Book Review: Animal Farm by Raidan Alaridi

I. Reviewer Profile

Name: Raidan Alaridi
Nationality:
Lebanese
A Brief Bio:
A science graduate with over a decade of experience in boring sales and discussions (just kidding, only half of them are). I enjoy the small moments where I read a book and escape to a different reality or trigger a mind-bending monologue, and occasionally enjoy one of the many wonders of the surrounding nature.

II. The Review

Book Title: Animal Farm
Author: George Orwell

The LILLICOM Score
L – Language: 5/10

Fairly an easy read which any reader can fully understand.

I – Immersion: 8/10

Apart from the ideology behind the book, the actual story is hard to leave without finishing.

L – Likability: 9/10

This book hints at a controversial subject so this rating is very subjective, but for me it hit the spot.

I – Impact: 8/10

You won’t go change the world after reading it, but it is a sure eye-openner.

C – Concept: 10/10

I don’t think I’ve ever read any book with such a clear yet very vague concept.

O – Outcome: 8/10

For those who do understand the ending, it does very much reflect reality at its best.

M – Messages: 9/10

While mostly hidden, they cover most of what the author intended and some that he didn’t as well.

Final Thought

I will forever remember this book. It is amazing how almost 90 years later, what Orwell tried to extract from a revolution, can be almost applied to many communities, governments, and corporate companies in today’s world.
