This heartwarming book takes young readers on a vibrant journey across the animal kingdom—from the snowy plains with penguins to the deep blue sea with dolphins—to answer one simple, reassuring question: Do animals have mothers just like we do? Through Carle’s iconic, hand-painted collage illustrations and a gentle, rhythmic narrative, children will discover that every animal, no matter how big or small, is cherished and cared for by a mother who loves them "just like me and you!"
The repetitive sentence structure encourages "read-along" participation, helping children build confidence in their vocabulary while learning the names of eleven different animals. Beyond language, it serves as a beautiful bedtime story that reinforces themes of empathy, security, and the universal bond between parent and child.

Author: Eric Carle (إِيرِيك كَارْل)
Born in New York and educated in Germany, Eric Carle (1929–2021) was a legendary author and illustrator who revolutionized children’s literature with his vibrant, hand-painted tissue paper collages. After a successful career as a graphic designer for The New York Times and various advertising agencies, he transitioned into books when he collaborated on Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? in 1967. This pivot led to the creation of over 70 books, including his masterpiece, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which became a global phenomenon celebrated for its playful design and educational themes.
Carle’s work was defined by a deep respect for children’s innate curiosity and a desire to make the transition from home to school less intimidating. In 2002, he and his wife, Barbara, co-founded The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art to celebrate the visual storytelling he championed throughout his life. Today, his legacy lives on through his "toy" book innovations and the millions of copies of his stories that continue to introduce young readers to the beauty of nature and the joy of learning.
