Inspired by George Orwell’s 1984, this novel is a chilling vision of a global theocratic empire called Abistan. In this world, history has been erased, thought is controlled by a new language, and citizens must "submit joyfully" to the divine will of Yölah and his prophet, Abi.

The story follows Ati, a man whose stay at a remote sanatorium awakens a dangerous sense of doubt. Returning to the capital, he begins to question the omnipresent dogma and becomes obsessed with "the Frontier" - the legendary boundary beyond which a world of non-believers might still exist. It is a powerful, visionary warning against total submission and the death of individual thought.
