Twelve-year-old Caspia detests big cities and is not at all happy when her parents tell her they will be spending their summer vacation in New York.

However, everything changes when she discovers a collection of letters written by a young blind girl who, many years ago, traveled the world with her father, a botanist. Each letter contains a riddle related to a different plant. As Caspia solves them, she realizes that, as incredible as it may seem, places and people can take root within us in the most unexpected ways.
