The City and Its Uncertain Walls

The story follows an unnamed protagonist whose life is forever altered when his teenage love suddenly vanishes, leaving behind only the memory of a mysterious, walled town she claimed was her "true" home.

Decades later, haunted by her absence, the man’s search leads him away from his life in Tokyo to a remote mountain library. There, the boundaries between reality and the subconscious begin to dissolve. He finds himself caught between the physical world and a surreal, walled city - a place where shadows are severed from their owners, unicorns roam, and a Gatekeeper guards the entrance.

As he navigates his role as the new librarian and uncovers the secrets of his predecessor, he encounters a gifted young boy who may hold the key to understanding the porous connection between these two worlds.
